Successful cases

Over the years, the EMSD has organised various thematic activities for clients from time to time to understand their needs and explore with them the application of more I&T solutions to enhance service quality and productivity. Through seminars on the application of innovative technologies, our project team has introduced to clients a number of successful I&T solutions, involving AI, robotics, drone and Multi-trade integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MiMEP) technologies. Apart from this, our project team has participated in interactive workshops with clients to explore innovative strategies. We have also invited clients to visit the E&M InnoZone at the EMSD Headquarters to learn about the cutting-edge technologies developed by the EMSD in collaboration with various I&T companies and universities, and demonstrate to them the transformational power of I&T solutions.

In order to promote I&T application to our clients, we organised the seminar cum workshop on application of innovative technologies three times this year, with the first one held on 12 January 2024 and the second one on 20 June 2024. At the second seminar cum workshop, with the theme “Smart Living – GWIN and AI”, we introduced 14 technology adoption projects, which included EnviroSense: Intelligent Environmental Monitoring and Safety Assessment System and ChillStream®: AI-based Chiller Plant Optimisation System, enabling the client representatives to explore the concepts of the technology applications and consider how to utilise them. The divisions of the EMSD then took follow-up action with the clients together.

Besides, the seminar cum workshop on New Solutions for Quality and Productivity was held on 14 November to introduce to clients a number of projects, including the application of MiMEP technology to replace air-handling units, golf ball picking robot solution, AI Lift Occupancy Management System, Smart AI-Control Ventilation System for Public Toilet, City-level Robotic Inspection & Diagnostic System for Building Systems, and Smart Flooding Detection and Warning System. The event received positive feedback from the client departments and they expressed great interest in the projects that could enhance their daily productivity and work quality.

By organising the above activities on the application of innovative technologies, the EMSD strives to strengthen innovative collaboration between stakeholders to dovetail with and implement the third Five-year Strategic Plan of the EMSTF. We will continue to collaborate with clients, the trade, partners, the Greater Bay Area and overseas organisations, so as to enable various stakeholders to understand the I&T development and applications.
