The EMSD and the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Trade Promotion Working Group (the Working Group) jointly held the Electrical and Mechanical Expo 2024 (E&M Expo) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25 to 28 January 2024. With the theme of “Embrace your Potential, Master your Future”, the E&M Expo featured booths introducing the scope of work and career prospects in the E&M industry. Nine career seminars were also arranged on 26 January, at which representatives from government departments, public utility companies, educational and training institutions, trade associations and trade unions shared information on the development and progression pathways of the E&M industry as well as on-the-job training. We also shared with the public innovative technologies that are widely used in the industry, including AI, Building Information Modelling and Multi-trade integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing, with a view to arousing young people’s interest in the E&M industry and attracting more talent to join the industry.
